Two artists courtesy of Mad Bouncy Dogs records, two bands featuring Nordic girl vocalists, and a great quirky band from London. Presumably mad dogs and nordic girls go out in the midnight sun. I should have thought of that to say in the podcast! Anyway, all for you to enjoy
Uncle Seth - To Be An Angel
Uncle Seth is Amaya Thompson on lead vocals, Jay Moonah on bass and harmonica, and Chris Patheiger on drums and percussion. From its inception in 1999, Uncle Seth hasn't stopped performing its "exuberant and accomplished mix of pop, rock, acoustic folk, twisty grooves, tender ballads, and pretty melodies, topped off by.rousing vocals" ( PIC Press , Kingston).
Katie Ellen - Good Times Never Last
Katie Ellen is a talented singer / songwriter from Liverpool UK with a style all of her own. Armed with only an acoustic guitar and her unique voice, Katie sings about what we all feel but are too afraid to tell.
Guards Of Metropolis - Perfect World
Two girls from the Norwegian Arctic Circle. Two guys from sunny California. One great song...
Irya - Room 54 and I know what I want
Irya Gmeyner spent her early years in Newcastle, England. She moved with her English parents to Sweden but returned to England as a teenager, where she made a living as a busker playing balalajka in the streets. In the evenings she played at the local pub, Acorn in York. Now based in Sweden, Irya’s debut ep The Basement Takes From Textilgatan 7 has just been released.
Vote Show Pony - Strut
A great pop song by a London band inspired by Roxy Music, Blondie and several others. They are presently recording an ep, so listen out for more. Vote Show Pony’s aim in life is simple. To get you on the dance floor & to have you jump around like a kid with ADD. They do this by performing their blend of "Blondie-esque", "Roxy Music-esque", "Scissor Sister-esque" music with all the heart & soul they have in them.
This week's soundbed music is Mrs Otisphere by Cagey House. The title music is by Tragic Shell Suit Disaster.

Mercy Machine - Orlando
Mercy Machine are purveyors of darkly confessional and intimate songs. Orlando is taken from their latest album The Devil I Know which delves into the issues of the no-longer-young years in which affectations have become habits, youthful skepticim has hardened into jaded cynicism, and the prospect of romantic love starts to seem so complicated as to be nearly impossible. Jazno Francoeur and India Turner's quietly poignant songs are structured as loose recitations with subtle harmonies and a plaintively beautiful cello backdrop.

Post Death Soundtrack - Long Cold Night
Musically and lyrically, Post Death Soundtrack is not afraid to provoke.
Post Death Soundtrack is an eclectic & unpredictable project with elements of industrial, metal, electronic, rock and hardcore. Style is less important than mood. Post Death Soundtrack strives to create an atmosphere that will provoke thought & communicate on a deep level. This track Long Cold Night was included on the Atom-Sounds Records compilation release.
Tim George - Holiday In Hell
Tim is a singer sonwriter, more usually found with an acoustic guitar. This song is performed by an alter ego whose details I have lost!
The Potato Eaters - Befriend Me and Run Through With Daylight
From San Francisco, the Potato Eaters combine the dual-vocal tradition of Jefferson Airplane with solid groove oriented rock, with shades of jazz and progressive rock thrown in. Singer/bassist Ben Guy played with Snakefinger for years, and vocalist Laurie Amat has recorded with the Residents. Option magazine noted of this CD: This is like late period Talking Heads with Bill Frisell as a guitar player, quasi-ethnic rhythms and rubbery, fretless bass lines backed by constant washes of heavily processed guitar.

The Electric Mainline -with The Koolaid Electric Company - Let Me Drift Away
Scott from The Electric Mainline says this on his blog:
Let Me Drift Away was recorded with Fran and The Koolaid boys - Dean, Sam & Dave (the Koolaid Electric Mainline anyone?) - last Sunday round at Dean's gaff. We had a blast recording it and we did one rehearsal of this song which sounded uncannily like the VU jamming with the Mary Chain - well it sounded like that from where I was standing..... We couldn't recapture that for the recording, but we have got this version which does come somewhere near. Ok, this recording has mistakes in, but it sounds so broken and fragile, and to me thats where the beauty lies.... this is why I adore this version so much... I love it so much more than the original. It was made with a lot of fun, goodwill and kindness... and thats why I've uploaded it as a free download - we've got to spread the love...
Lazy Sinatra - Why Don't You Ask You
Mysterious, and no, the guy on the left is not this artist! I played this song on my contribution to Three Men In A Pod No 1, and thought it would work really well with the opening song.
John & Wayne - Tripping Up Inclines and Nearly Killed Keith
John Dunnery and Wayne Wilkinson are two carpenters with a passion for music. They were working around the UK in 2001 when they joined Aquarian Nation and recorded their debut album 'Nearly Killed Keith'. The lyrics tell the story of life away from home working on dreary building sites when all the while they were just wanting to live their childhood dream of being musicians. Their album 'Nearly Killed Keith' can be bought by going to www.aquariannation.com and then click on the cd store section. It is also available on iTunes for download or can be purchased at www.townsend-records.co.uk
Breakfast in Bed - Emily's In Soho
This is a recorded in one take of a new song that will be on the band's new album to be released next year. It's about a lovely girl they know ...
"Endearing English roustabouts equally influenced by Ian Dury, London buses and cafeterias which smell like the inside of ancient handbags. These guys write catchy, hooky, nicely nicely indie music. Yes they do."-GREASY LIPS CLUB NIGHT
"The new likely lads..."-NME
"A little bit naughty, and very pleasing. Unfortunately nothing like my wife...". - PLAY MUSIC
